I realize it was a short term build, but 1200 hp out of a stock bottom end junkyard motor is stupid. 60 dyno pulls is still a good amount too. As they mention at the end, might even be able to get some miles on it at just the 700-800 level. This particular dyno video comes to us from Stance Autoworks and features what is billed as the world-record-holding stock bottom end 5.3 LS engine. Anytime we hear the words “stock bottom end” and “world record” and “dyno” all in the same sentence, we cringe a little bit inside, because one never knows what they are going to get While the engine may have borrowed four rods from another motor, for all intents and purposes it is, in fact, still just a stock bottom end LQ4 with 250,000+ miles and a few parts with unknown milage.

The graph below is a bone stock LQ4 bottom end with ARP rod bolts and a Melling oil pump. The heads are factory untouched 317's with the exception of Lunati dual springs and retainers and Ferrea stainless valves. The cam is a custom piece spec'd by FlowTech Induction/Ed Curtis.
